“The Penguin Wine” – The story behind our Autumn Select!

Have you tried our AUTUMN SELECT: Pinot Gris, yet?  Did you know one of the Humboldt penguins at our local Aquarium of Niagara actually painted the background for that label?

As part of their enrichment program at the Aquarium, trainers have the penguins walk through paint, and then onto canvas, to create colorful and singular paintings.  Inspired by the project, we selected one of the designs created by Miss. Opus, to use on our Autumn Select label released last fall, and in return donate a dollar from every bottle sold back to the Aquarium!

This June, Don & Danielle stopped by to donate a check in the amount of $143, and got a “Behind-the-Scenes” tour of the Aquarium! While we were there, we had a chance to meet Opus, as well as a “Behind-the-Scenes” tour of the facilities, where Grandpa even got brave and touched an Octopus!

October 1st we’ll be sending a donation from the last quarter, including September bottles sold… Can we beat June’s donation?!

Stop by during the Niagara Wine Trail’s Taste of the Trail this weekend, try our amazing Pumpkin Soup (made by Pig Kings BBQ from our own Farm’s Pumpkins!), and purchase a bottle of Autumn Select to help us reach that goal!
