I don’t know about you, but this colder weather definitely has us thinking about comfort foods, like this Roasted Chicken & Cranberry Stuffing recipe from HelloFresh!
A well-prepared roast makes the meat fall-off-the-bone tender without compromising any of the intensity in flavor. We recommend pairing it with richer white wine- like our Pinot Magic!
Our unique blanc de Noirs is light & brisk enough to handle the crispy chicken skin but still has that full body mouth feel (true to it’s red Pinot Noir character profile) to round out the dish and compliment the Cranberry stuffing! Refreshing, balanced and satisfying, it’s perfect for shorter days and chillier nights!
You can find the recipe for this hearty Autumn dish here: http://bit.ly/2lJiskz
Interested in trying HelloFresh subscription service? Select your choice of meals from 15 recipes for week, and receive all the fresh, quality ingredients you need delivered straight to your door! Use our referral code for $40 off your first delivery: https://share.hellofresh.com/x/9gnUtL
Then stop by the winery to #uncorkNWT & receive 20% off a bottle of #PinotMagic when you show us this post before 11/17/17! (Yes, that means you can redeem this offer during our Nouveau Night – tickets still available!)
As it has been in the past, with over 3000 ticket holders out on the trail, this #Hallowine Weekend was the busiest of the year!
A special thank you to our auxiliary staff for stepping in and giving us a hand this weekend (and thank you to my normal crew, for guiding these new friendly faces).
Thank you to all the respectful and courteous guests who came through our doors over the course of two days – everyone was out to have a good time and (mostly) everyone was on their best behavior. Thank you for treating our winery like our home (because it is!) and for your understanding that we can’t always control the behavior of others- but we try to keep them from ruining the experience for you and your guests.
For those who visited us for the first time- welcome! I hope you found a new wine you loved, and I hope to see you again soon (maybe on a less busy weekend so we have time to chat!)
For now, we would like to ask that you take a moment out of your day to share a review of the winery on Yelp, and help us improve our ratings!
Until next time, may you never be short on love, laughter, and good wine!
-The DeMaison Family
The DeMaison Family invites you to raise a glass to our 2017 growing season and celebrate Autumn’s bounty! Join us Thursday, November 16th for Nouveau Night, when we release the first wine from this year’s Harvest.
This brand new wine is made from the first grapes of the season, Leon Millot handpicked by our team September 2, 2017. Light-bodied by nature, it’s exultantly fruity due to the short fermentation period.
At it’s heart, however, this young red is about so much more than just how it tastes! In the traditional style of French “Nouveau” wines, it’s about community coming together, cheering on our local farmers, and enjoying the literal fruits of their labor! Intended to be consumed within the first year of bottling, Leon Nouveau makes a great reason to celebrate another year in the vineyard and a bottle on the table at holiday meals gives everyone a chance to reflect on the year we had!
At our first ever Nouveau Night, we invite you to take part in Long Cliff Vineyard & Winery history!
Our Winemaker’s Reception begins at 5:00pm, when Don & Kevin finally get to relax from harvest & gather for conversation around the fire pit. Pizza and wings will be provided, and your $15 cover charge includes the cost of your very own bottle of 2017 Leon Nouveau – which you’ll get the personal opportunity to bottle & hand label yourself, straight from the tank. Every guest will take home the exact bottle they bottled (with opportunities for photos) and the chance to have the label autographed by our winemaker.
Please call us at 716-731-3316 to make reservations. We ask for payment in advance to provide a head count.
Just after midnight, the famous Orient Express is stopped in its tracks by a snowdrift. By morning, the millionaire Samuel Edward Ratchett lies dead in his compartment, stabbed a dozen times, his door locked from the inside. One of his fellow passengers must be the murderer.
Our book club always meets on the 4th Sunday of each month at 6:00PM, to discuss great books over a bottle of wine! We recommend reading the book in advance to join in on the conversation. This is a free social gathering, all are welcome to attend – but guests must be 21+ to drink.
This Month’s Meeting is October 22 at 6:00pm! RSVP on Facebook to Save the Date!

Harvest Season is upon us – and what better way to celebrate than with wine and food pairings at the member wineries along the Niagara Wine Trail, USA?!
Long Cliff is showcasing two perfect reds for Autumn – our dry 2013 Lemberger Reserve- rich with rosewood and raspberry notes, and our sweeter Hennepin Red, famous for it’s bright candy apple coloring and spicy cinnamon finish! Choose between these wines to pair with our taste of the season: Pumpkin Spice Cream Puffs!
Tickets allow you to visit ten participating wineries for just $22/person (on sale through Thursday, 9/22) & are valid for both Saturday and Sunday. At each winery you’ll receive one harvest themed wine & food pairing, (plus two additional wine samples), and a commemorative wine glass at your starting winery.
During the event, ticket prices increase to $27/person. Don’t delay – reserve your ticket at our discounted pricing here!
Join us September 24th at our regularly scheduled book club meeting for discussion of Shadows in the Vineyard: The True Story of the Plot to Poison the World’s Greatest Wine. This true story account takes us “deep into a captivating world full of fascinating characters, small-town French politics, an unforgettable narrative, and a local culture defined by the twinned veins of excess and vitality and the deep reverent attention to the land that runs through it.”
In January 2010, Aubert de Villaine, the famed proprietor of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, the tiny, storied vineyard that produces the most expensive, exquisite wines in the world, received an anonymous note threatening the destruction of his priceless vines by poison-a crime that in the world of high-end wine is akin to murder-unless he paid a one million euro ransom…
Our book club always meets on the 4th Sunday of each month at 6:00PM, to discuss great books over a bottle of wine! We recommend reading the book in advance to join in on the conversation. This is a free social gathering, all are welcome to attend – but guests must be 21+ to drink. RSVP on Facebook to Save the Date!

When the rain (can you even call that monsoon we had “rain?”) started falling at 5:30 Saturday night we were afraid our 5th Annual Corn Roast was going to be a real wash… But the heavens opened up and the sunshine came back right at 6pm – and after a slight delay while we arranged some final outdoor setup, the show went on!
It’s always a little nerve-wracking for us as hosts to switch caterers, but working with BW’S Smokin’ Barrels Barbecue out of Blasdell was smooth sailing from start to finish, and everything on the menu was delicious! Our only regret is that it took us five years to find them!
Once again, Savannah King’s set list was the perfect accompaniment for the night, and I am so grateful she continues to include our little hometown winery on her summer tour list each year! If this was your first time joining us, you can find more about Savannah (& her band!) here: www.savannahkingmusic.com
And although it’s been said before, I cannot rave about the success of our 5th annual event without thanking the crew I am so lucky to work with (and for!). My “not-so-little” brother Kevin and husband Jamison were troopers about standing outside even during the end of the rainfall to finish prepping the food service line, and worked the first half of the evening greeting our guests and keeping the dinner line short! Thank you for being one part kitchen staff, one part comic relief. Jasmine and Joe rocked it behind the bar again this year, and our new assistant winemaker (who’s also named Joe – that gets confusing!) was a great addition to the tasting room crew.
As always, our most sincere thanks goes out to everyone who joined us to celebrate the season and toast our upcoming Harvest! Without your continued support we wouldn’t have been able to pull this shindig off for five consecutive years! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Until next time, may your glasses be full! Cheers!
