As it has been in the past, with over 3000 ticket holders out on the trail, this #Hallowine Weekend was the busiest of the year!

The DeMaison Family invites you to raise a glass to our 2017 growing season and celebrate Autumn’s bounty! Join us Thursday, November 16th for Nouveau Night, when we release the first wine from this year’s Harvest.
This brand new wine is made from the first grapes of the season, Leon Millot handpicked by our team September 2, 2017. Light-bodied by nature, it’s exultantly fruity due to the short fermentation period.
At it’s heart, however, this young red is about so much more than just how it tastes! In the traditional style of French “Nouveau” wines, it’s about community coming together, cheering on our local farmers, and enjoying the literal fruits of their labor! Intended to be consumed within the first year of bottling, Leon Nouveau makes a great reason to celebrate another year in the vineyard and a bottle on the table at holiday meals gives everyone a chance to reflect on the year we had!
At our first ever Nouveau Night, we invite you to take part in Long Cliff Vineyard & Winery history!
Our Winemaker’s Reception begins at 5:00pm, when Don & Kevin finally get to relax from harvest & gather for conversation around the fire pit. Pizza and wings will be provided, and your $15 cover charge includes the cost of your very own bottle of 2017 Leon Nouveau – which you’ll get the personal opportunity to bottle & hand label yourself, straight from the tank. Every guest will take home the exact bottle they bottled (with opportunities for photos) and the chance to have the label autographed by our winemaker.

Harvest Season is upon us – and what better way to celebrate than with wine and food pairings at the member wineries along the Niagara Wine Trail, USA?!
Long Cliff is showcasing two perfect reds for Autumn – our dry 2013 Lemberger Reserve- rich with rosewood and raspberry notes, and our sweeter Hennepin Red, famous for it’s bright candy apple coloring and spicy cinnamon finish! Tickets allow you to visit ten participating wineries for just $22/person (on sale through Thursday, 9/22) & are valid for both Saturday and Sunday. Our book club always meets on the 4th Sunday of each month at 6:00PM, to discuss great books over a bottle of wine! We recommend reading the book in advance to join in on the conversation. When the rain (can you even call that monsoon we had “rain?”) started falling at 5:30 Saturday night we were afraid our 5th Annual Corn Roast was going to be a real wash… But the heavens opened up and the sunshine came back right at 6pm – and after a slight delay while we arranged some final outdoor setup, the show went on!
It’s always a little nerve-wracking for us as hosts to switch caterers, but working with BW’S Smokin’ Barrels Barbecue out of Blasdell was smooth sailing from start to finish, and everything on the menu was delicious! Our only regret is that it took us five years to find them!
Once again, Savannah King’s set list was the perfect accompaniment for the night, and I am so grateful she continues to include our little hometown winery on her summer tour list each year! And although it’s been said before, I cannot rave about the success of our 5th annual event without thanking the crew I am so lucky to work with (and for!). My “not-so-little” brother Kevin and husband Jamison were troopers about standing outside even during the end of the rainfall to finish prepping the food service line, and worked the first half of the evening greeting our guests and keeping the dinner line short! Thank you for being one part kitchen staff, one part comic relief. Jasmine and Joe rocked it behind the bar again this year, and our new assistant winemaker (who’s also named Joe – that gets confusing!) was a great addition to the tasting room crew.
As always, our most sincere thanks goes out to everyone who joined us to celebrate the season and toast our upcoming Harvest! Without your continued support we wouldn’t have been able to pull this shindig off for five consecutive years! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
